"Handmade" είναι ο τίτλος της νέας performance σύγχρονου χορού της Βίκυς Βασιλοπούλου που θα παρουσιαστεί στο Κέντρο Παραστατικών Τεχνών DanceVacuum από το Σάββατο 10 Μαρτίου.
Η χορογράφος αντλεί έμπνευση από το εννοιολογικό πλαίσιο της χειροποίητης δημιουργίας, η οποία έρχεται σε αντίθεση και λειτουργεί ως αντίδοτο στην κουλτούρα του καταναλωτισμού που επεκτείνεται συχνά στις ανθρώπινες σχέσεις.
Στην παράσταση παίρνουν μέρος επαγγελματίες και ερασιτέχνες χορευτές, καθώς και η ηθοποιός Μαρία Σκουλά. Στο βίντεο της παράστασης συμμετέχουν o Αφρικανός χορευτής και κρουστός Dauda Conteh και η ακτιβίστρια Click Nwgere.
Σημείωμα της χορογράφου: Το "Handmade" είναι μία performance για το πως ο άνθρωπος μέσα από την φαντασία του και την αυθεντικότητά του μπορεί να επικοινωνήσει με άλλους ανθρώπους, να αλληλεπιδράσει και τέλος να παράξει τέχνη και κατ’ επέκταση πολιτισμό. Η συνεύρεση και η ανταλλαγή ιδεών, η επιρροή της Αφρικανικής κουλτούρας για παράδειγμα πάνω στο δυτικό μοντέλο καταναλωτισμού μπορεί να δώσει μία ιδέα για το πώς οι πολιτισμοί μπορούν να αλληλεπιδράσουν μέσα από ανοίγματα που μόνο η τέχνη και η διαδικασία του «χειροποίητου» μπορούν να δώσουν. Μέσα από μία παρέλαση ιδεών και ιδεολογημάτων η χορογραφία θέλει να προσεγγίσει την αυθεντικότητα που πηγάζει από την χειροποίητη δημιουργία η οποία μας επαναφέρει σε παραδοσιακές αξίες, ενισχύει την αίσθηση του «ανήκειν» και την συνάντηση με τον «άλλον» εαυτό. Μέσα από μια διαδικασία «πλεξίματος» δημιουργούμε ιστούς οι οποίοι σαν ένας σύγχρονος Μίτος της Αριάδνης θα μας οδηγήσoυν σε νέες μορφές έκφρασης και επικοινωνίας.

Vicky Vassilopoulou presents the new contemporary dance performance titled “Handmade” at the DanceVacuum Center of Performing Arts on Saturday 10th March and every Saturday and Sunday until March 25th.
The choreographer draws inspiration from the conceptual context of the handcrafted creation that contradicts with and works as an antidote to the culture of consumerism that often extends to human relationships.
Both professional and amateur dancers take part in the performance as well as the actor Maria Skoula. The African dancer and percussionist Dauda Conteh and the activist Click Nwgere participate in the video of the show.
“Handmade is a performance for how human beings can communicate with other people through their imagination and authenticity, interact with them and ultimately produce art and by extension culture. The gathering and exchange of ideas, the influence of the African culture, for example, on the Western consumerism model can give an idea of how cultures can interact through openings that only art and the process of “handmade” can give. Through a parade of ideas and ideograms the choreography wants to approach the authenticity that stems from the handmade creation that brings us back to traditional values, strengthens the sense of “belonging” and meeting with the “other” self. Through a process of “knitting” we create tissues that like a modern “Ariadne’s thread” can lead us in new forms of expression and communication”.
